This was an editorial shoot where I needed to show the full-breadth of what the Desert Mission Charities does for the community and who it benefits. My photographic work was funded by the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust and the Picturing Maricopa project 2010. I did two Picturing Maricopa projects that year. The Centers for Habilitation was the other. My first responsibility is to illustrate the Desert Mission Charities mission through my perspective and without intervention. I’m to capture real life as it happens in a photojournalistic style.
The Programs I covered where: Desert Mission Food Bank, the Lincoln Learning Center, the Children’s Dental Clinic and the Community Health Center.
